Center Supervisor

Summary of Duties: Under general supervision of Center Director, supervise delivery of an after-school child care program in an elementary school setting. Provide supervision of children, using good management techniques. Ensure a safe environment in the center, and encourage good health and safety practices. Provide direction for group leaders and ensure compliance with required policies, procedures, and regulations. Process paperwork in an accurate, complete and timely manner. Maintain positive interpersonal relations among everyone involved in the program, including children, parents, school staff, and group leaders. Provide children with a variety of enriching experiences, with a good balance between free choice and planned curriculum activities: indoor and outdoor play, sports and games, arts and crafts, homework time, reading, math and science activities, field trips and more. Coordinate work with other departments, including enrollment, support services, and accounting.

Minimum Qualifications    

Education/Experience: Must be at least 21 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with elementary aged children and 3 months experience at EACFK.  Must have negative TB test and be certified in CPR and First Aid (may be acquired in training).  6 hours of college course work in Child Development and/or Business Management as related to school age child care (ie: ALD, Education, Child Psy, ECE, Mngmnt, Mkt...) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of child development, what to expect of children in different situations, and group management techniques. Ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently, supervise staff, and have sound judgment. Ability to communicate positively with children, parents, school staff, and coworkers. Ability to take a leadership role, initiate actions, and make balanced decisions. Function well in a team environment. Flexible and willing to work at different locations to meet the changing needs of the organization.

Locations: On-site at 65 elementary schools in the Austin Independent School District, Del Valle ISD, and Hays Consolidated ISD.

Hours: May vary depending on location: 1:45pm or later to 6:00 or 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Salary Range: $10.40 – 11.40 and up dependent on completion of college coursework
