How do I enroll?

You can apply online or come into the business office.

When will I know that I can start?

A customer service representative will contact you to let you know that you may start after they have verified your application is complete, payment has been made and there is space in the program.

What is the best way to get a hold of my customer service representative?

E-mail your customer service representative by using the first letter of her first name and her whole last name then end it in @eackids.org. Example: drioslombrana@eackids.org (Debbie Rios-Lombrana, Customer Service Lead Representative).

What do I need to do to get on the waiting list?

Submit your application per child.

If my school has a waiting list, when will it be lifted?

The majority of the time it is due to staffing. It typically takes 1-4 weeks to get a new staff member interviewed and trained to start at a program. We try to lift waiting list as quick as we can.

What if my child is not active on the EAC list at my school?

An enrollment representative will contact you to complete your application.

What time is the business office open?

From 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday – Friday

What if I need financial assistance?

You can request an appointment on your application and a customer service representative will contact you to set up an appointment.

What activities are provided during EAC?

We offer a variety of outdoor and indoor activities including time for reading and homework, supervised sports, field trips, creative arts, table games, math and science projects, music, dramatic play, cooking, and health and safety. More details are provided on afterschool, summer or preschool home page of EAC at www.eackids.org.

What time do the centers close?

6:30 p.m. (Barrington, Blanton, Campbell, Creedmoor, Eden Park Academy, Gilbert, Govalle, Guerrero-Thompson, Jordan, Norman, Ortega, Overton, Pecan Springs, REAL Learning Academy, Reilly, and Sims end at 6:00 p.m.)

When are payments due?

Payments are due in Extend-A-Care's business office on the first of the month. Payment cannot be accepted by Extend-A-Care staff working at the school. Payment deadlines continue in effect when the business office is closed. Payments not received by the third of the month will be considered late and a $30 late fee will be assessed to the account.

What options do you have for making payments?

Payments can be made in the following manners: 1) Make a one-time payment online via your account login. Click here to be directed to the login screen; 2) Allow Extend-A-Care to process your payments by drafting your bank account or credit card each month by signing up for the Auto Pay option under the Payments & Statements section of your online account. The auto pay option is valid until cancelled by the customer; 3) Mail your check or money order made payable to Extend-A-Care for Kids, 55 North IH-35, Austin, TX 78702;  or 4) Bring your payment to Extend-A-Care's business office, at 55 North IH-35 in Austin to pay in person Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., or use our 24-hour drop box (no cash please).

Why am I paying the same for December as I do in November?

Child Care Monthly Fees: Our after-school fees are based upon the number of instructional days in a school year calendar and divided into monthly payments, with minor adjustments for August, November, December, and March. The fee for shorter months does not necessarily represent just that month, but a portion of the annual cost of child care spread throughout the year.

Example: December’s fee of $219 does not represent just the instructional days within the month of December, but 1/10 of the cost of child care for the year. EAC breaks the cost into equal payments, with minor adjustments, so parents can budget the same amount each month rather than a rate that fluctuates monthly. This method of monthly after-school rates has been a popular request from parents for years.

What is the Application Fee and Refund Policy?

 A $35 annual fee per child is required at the time of enrollment and each school year.  The fee is refundable, less a $10 annual fee, if the enrollment is cancelled and the refund is requested on or before July 18 (before school year starts); it is non-refundable and non-transferable after July 18 (Parent Policies, page 2).

Child care fees are due on the 1st day of the month.  To cancel child care services and avoid additional charges, a written cancellation must be received in the business office ten business days prior to your child's last day at Extend-A-Care.  A cancellation is effective the eleventh day after the date your notice is received in the business office.

Infant/ Pre-school parents: A written cancellation must be received in the business office one calendar month prior to your child’s last day at Extend-A-Care.  A cancellation is effective one calendar month after the date your notice is received in the business office (Parent Policies, page 4).

Child care fees will be prorated and any amount left over will be refunded to the customer within 3-5 days of the cancellation request.  Payments made by credit card will be refunded to a credit card. Payments made by E-check or cash will be refunded by check to the primary account holder.

Are there any discounts for employees of specific businesses?

Yes, employees of districts where EAC provides child care services will receive a discount. In addition, we offer discounts for any corporations who participates in the Passport Unlimited program and have EAC listed on their benefits program.  Initiate your discount by contacting your assigned customer service representative.
